Canna-vision

Canna-Vision: noun 1. : constriction of the visual field resulting in loss of peripheral vision due to high levels of cannabis smoke. 2. : extreme stoneyness of viewpoint : stoney-mindedness. also : single-minded concentration on one objective (cannabis consumption.)

"Canna-Vision" it's the first single off of MONTE's new record.

Yet another brainchild of front-woman, Caitlin Montclare.  As much as we liked to wind down... or up with our preferred herb, we never really wrote a "pot song."  Montclare considered songs about weed gimmicky and played out, so we needed to punk it up a bit.

t. d. t. t. m

"MONTE’s third featured song from their EP ‘This Is MONTE’ is “T. D .T .T .M” which, upon hearing the first chorus of the song clearly means “Too Depressed To Touch Myself”. This video was spun from the imagination of frontwoman and guitarist, Caitlin Montclare. Referencing the game Operation, where you pull out bones and organs with punny names out of the patient with metal tweezers without it touching the metal edges, or else an abrasive sound comes from the game and the patient's nose lights up in reaction to your failure. MONTE plays with the idea of being touched, poked and prodded in a sexual nature juxtaposed with surgery. The band kept to their classic whimsical and satirical selves while lyrically having a more serious conversation about a subject matter that is under discussed.

I hate me more

"I Hate Me More" is the second single from their EP 'This Is MONTE'. The official music video was directed and edited by the band's singer and guitarist, Caitlin Montclare who teamed up with TJ Ferrari (Bolex Studios Director of Photography) for their 4th collaboration. Montclare was heavily inspired by experimental director David Lynch. she draws comparisons to his films Mulholland Drive and Blue Velvet but in typical MONTE fashion adds a bit of cheekiness and camp.

bad girl

"Bad Girl" is the first single from 'This Is MONTE.' The video was inspired by the current New York City and Brooklyn queer burlesque and rocknroll scene. Singer and guitarist Caitlin Montclare wrote the song and directed the music video in which she collaborated with Erika Kramer Director of Photography and founder of Sleeves Up Productions.

NO MOTIVATION

"No Motivation" was written by front woman, Caitlin Montclare in 2015. It has been on a journey through different projects and performances and finally found its forever place in MONTE during the midst of a pandemic. The Video was filmed and edited by TJ Ferrari of Bolex Studios and directed and assistant edited by Caitlin Montclare. The video mirrors the lyrics by depicting scenes of the band flipping through mindless late night television, almost hypnotized by the news, commercials & reality TV. It’s a familiar image; cooped up indoors, being bombarded by the media or forced to buy goods in order to cope with quarantine.

Vocals & Guitars: Caitlin Montclare

Bass: Meghan Rose

merry x-mas (it’s Over)

Merry X-mas (It's Over) was the band's first single with the currant lineup consisting of Meghan and Ismael. Guitarist, Caitlin Montclare wrote the song after going through a breakup over Christmas.  Inspired by rock and punk bands that have made holiday songs and/or have covered them, Montclare used this song as a fun opportunity to record a Christmas EP, even if the band was 3/4 Jewish.  The band recorded the instruments and some of the vocals live and the tracks were recorded and mixed by drummer, Ismael Baiz  Montclare directed the music video above which was shot by the Bolex Brothers duo Brandon and TJ.
